Builders Transportation Company (BTC), a Memphis, Tenn.-based flatbed carrier, announced today a percentage-based pay program for company drivers.

This program, which is a voluntary pay option, is expected to increase driver pay by at least 10 percent.

“Freight rates are increasing so this is an ideal time to convert our mileage-based drivers to percentage,” says Dwight Bassett, BTC Chief Financial Officer.  “We are so sure that our drivers are will earn more under this percentage program that for the first four weeks BTC will pay the difference between percentage and mileage if mileage pay is more.”

The new percentage-based program gives experienced drivers the opportunity to make up to 27 percent. After completing training, student drivers will start at 24 percent then increase to 25 percent at 6 months and 1 percent a year until they reach 27 percent. The CSA bonus pays 2 percent of revenue for revenues over $3,750 and 3 percent for revenue over $4,250.

The company also offers a quarterly bonus program based on safety, service and fuel mileage.  The average quarterly bonus is $1,250.

“We really feel that those drivers that choose the percentage-based pay program will see a substantial increase in their earnings,” says Bassett.  “Added to the other advantages of working for BTC, this is a great time to join us.”

In addition to this substantial pay increase, BTC offers drivers a family-oriented work environment. BTC gets drivers home every weekend, offers state-of-the-art equipment, onboard logging and other current technology. For more information on careers at BTC, visit or call 800-238-6803.
