CalArk International is honored to announce that Charles and Helen Mikus of Yorktown, Texas have been chosen as the company’s 2010 Drivers of the Year.
The husband-and-wife team have driven with CalArk for three years. Charles is a 23-year veteran of trucking who convinced his wife to join him as his team member in 2000. Before driving, Helen stayed at home with the couple’s three children and also worked as a substitute teacher for grades 1 -12. Her teaching ability enabled the Mikuses to later bring their daughter Charlotte on the road with them, since Helen was qualified to meet all her home schooling requirments.
When asked what they had liked most about their years in trucking, Charles and Helen state, “It’s the flexibility trucking gives us to accept dispatches and then be left alone to plan our routes and get the mission accomplished to deliver the load on time.”
