Dart announces its Contractors of the Year

April 24, 2012

Dart Transit Company is pleased to announce its 2011 Contractors of the Year: Alberto Luevano and John Borofka for Dart’s Texas and Minnesota Operating Centers.

Alberto has contracted a truck with Dart since 2006.  “Alberto is the type of contractor who is always willing to help out,” said Bob Oakes, Director of Operations at Dart’s Texas Operating Center.  “He shuttles trailers around El Paso.  Last year we had a situation where a contractor lost her license at a truck stop, and the load needed to be delivered.  Alberto was home taking time off.  He came out of the house, met her at the truck stop, and delivered the load.”

John has contracted a truck with Dart since 1987.  In 2011 he received the National Safety Council’s Three Million Mile Safety Award.  “I have worked with John for about 20 years, and he is one-of-a-kind,” said JoAnn Welch, Dart Dedicated Account Manager.  “He is very deserving of this award.  If someone asked me to describe the ideal contractor, I immediately think of John.  He is a true professional and that is evident in his more than 3 million accident-free miles.”

As Contractors of the Year, Alberto and John each received a marble trophy, a $1,000 check and personalized leather jacket.
