February 22, 2011
Maverick Transportation, LLC, recently announced that they will begin taking delivery on 500 new trucks in the 2nd quarter of 2011. The fleet upgrade will consist of 2011 Freightliner Cascadias equipped with the latest in safety technology and driver comfort. 300 of these units will be replacements as Maverick strives to reduce maintenance costs and lower the average age of the fleet. The additional 200 units will represent growth as the company continues to expand its service offering and provide additional capacity to its customer base.
“Maverick has a long standing reputation for having the newest, best equipped and safest trucks on the road,” said Vice President of Maintenance Mike Jeffress. “We take pride in our fleet as a company and want our professional drivers and customers alike to enjoy the best equipment in the transportation industry.”
Features on each new unit include electronic onboard recorders, collision mitigation, roll stability, and lane departure technology as well as the latest Daimler engine technology and Eaton electronic shift transmissions.
“Purchasing new equipment and expanding our fleet during these uncertain economic times is a testament to our company’s stability and the overall confidence Maverick has in the continued growth of business units throughout the company,” said President and COO Stephen Selig.
