Ted Takasaki is a top professional Hall of Fame angler who has competed on both the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) and the FLW Walleye Tour. He won the prestigious PWT Classic Championship in 1998 and still holds the all time tournament record for a one day limit of 5 walleyes, which weighed an amazing 53.2 pounds! He has been featured in many national outdoor magazines and has appeared on numerous fishing television shows. Ted is considered one of America’s leading walleye experts. One of Ted’s 2012 sponsors is Anderson Trucking Service, Inc. (ATS) of St Cloud, Minnesota.
Ted will be writing about the victory in his newspaper column, syndicated internet/regional magazines, and Midwest Outdoors. He shared some insights into his winning techniques. “We were trolling 1 oz. Booyah spinnerbaits over/through the trees on leadcore line. It was important to maintain a 1.8mph trolling speed and precise boat control in order to get these lures over the right fish. Most anglers believe that spinnerbaits are a bass lure, but it’s been proven that they catch a ton of walleyes too!”
