Maverick Names Driver of the Year
Maverick Transportation announced Ed Tillman of Doniphan, MO, as their 2010 Driver of the Year on Friday, February 4, 2010 at their annual Driver of the Year award presentation.
“Thank you all so much,” Tillman stated with visible emotion. “There isn’t enough time for me to possibly thank everyone that has contributed to my success. I’m so honored.”
Tillman, a professional driver for four years, has been with Maverick for three years and came to Maverick through the company’s student driving program. He specifically thanked his driver trainer, Maverick’s Training Department, his fleet managers and his wife Leigh Ann.
Tillman has proven himself a leader in the company’s fleet. He is a driver instructor, a Maroon Marauder award recipient, has two safety awards, and maintains a very high MPG average. “Ed is always upbeat and has one of the best attitudes I’ve ever seen,” said Fleet Operations Manager Lea Anne Lindsey. “He is a true professional, is a pleasure to work with and definitely deserves this recognition as Driver of the Year.”

As Maverick’s June Driver of the Month for 2010, Tillman was recognized for his combination of safe driving, positive attitude and willingness to go above what is asked.
Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company’s fleet who takes pride in his or her profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do. All office and driver employees then vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month to select the Driver of the Year. As Driver of the Year, Tillman will receive an extra week of vacation time, a $2,500 bonus check, and a custom-made leather jacket.

Boyd Bros. Honors Driver for Reaching Three Million Safe Miles
For Boyd Bros. Transportation company driver Isaiah “Ike” Hamilton, staying safe on the road has always been a priority. Boyd Bros., says Hamilton, threw a large celebration for his accomplishment and presented him with a bonus check. Hamilton also received a gold watch, belt buckle, trophy, company pin and cap.

Prime Inc. Honors Contractors of the Year
Prime inc. recently named its 2010 Contractor of the Year award recipients. The best drivers in each division are honored with this annual award for exhibiting exceptional safety and service practices, professionalism and productivity. Winners are hand picked from among each department’s recipients of Prime’s Contractor of the Month awards for the previous year, based on their dedication to safety and several other factors, including mileage, on-time deliveries, driving record, fuel consumption, productivity and customer service.
